Highlights
This event will begin with some early bonding as riders come together for a weekend of adventure rider training conducted by MotoDiscovery Coach Ramey Stroud with specific emphasis on helpful sand riding techniques.
Arriving in Israel, riders will take delivery of their motorcycles in the Port of Haifa on the blue Mediterranean.
After riding the King’s Highway, the iconic image of the Kingdom of Jordan is Petra, that stunning rose colored rock carved complex of tombs, temples and towers, a UNESCO World Heritage sight.
Resting on a rock plateau outside of Cairo are the great pyramids and Sphinx of Giza (2560 BC), one of the Seven Great Wonders of the World.
Ride the North Africa battle fields of World War II where the clash between the “Desert Fox”, Field Marshal Rommel, and Bernard “Monty” Montgomery brought together two great commanders in a contest of wit, tenacity and bravery in the deserts near Al-Alemein.
World travelers claim the nights of the Egyptian Sahara represent their most memorable of experiences. Like the nomadic Bedouin, this Caravan of Dreams will be camping in style beneath an ocean of stars for three nights as riders navigate the from oasis to oasis making their way to places with names like Siwa, Karda and Bahariya.
Luxor on the Nile will offer welcomed civilization for riders after the desert experience and will allow participants to explore the Pharaoh’s Valley of the Kings and other incredible Egyptian archeological sights.
For those who may wish for their companions back home to share in the Caravan of Dreams, MotoDiscovery has a special partial package beginning in Luxor, a romantic rendezvous, with many great highlights.
The Sinai will be a place of contrasts. From the stylish resorts of Sharm-el Shiek to the mountain monastery of St. Catherine where biblical legend claims Moses came upon the burning bush (Exodus 3)
Massada sits atop a 1,300 ft high plateau overlooking the Dead Sea in Israel and is most noted as the sight of the a lengthy Roman siege to put down a Jewish revolt in 73 AD,
Jerusalem is a holy place where Christianity, Judaism and Islam lay claim and is one of the oldest cities in the world dating back to the 4th millennium BC.
MOTORCYCLE ADVISORY FOR CARAVAN OF DREAMS EXPEDITION: We strongly encourage riders to use lighter motorcycles that are in the 650-800 cc. range. Any participant who desires to ride a larger motorcycle must be able to demonstrate and verify that they possess the skills and physical qualities that are required to safely and enjoyably tour with a larger machine.

“Egypt Desert Ride” was shot during one of my most memorable motorcycle adventures in the remote Western Desert region. I later produced a short documentary for the National Geographic Channel and now, as a MotoDiscovery staff member, I am looking forward to riding this fascinating region again on the tenth anniversary of that epic ride.
